As someone who was part of the Miss Ohio Class of 2025, I want to say Olivia’s win reflects her skill and preparedness to represent Ohio at Miss America. I’m excited to see how she embraces her year. Regarding the comments made here, I can’t speak to what was or wasn’t said as I’m unsure and I don’t condone unkind words or actions from anyone. However, in my time in the program, it’s unfortunately common for contestants to make comments about others through group chats, casual conversations, or jokes that end up getting back to people during the week or through chaperones and sometimes the chaperones themselves are the ones with comments. This isn’t something unique to Olivia or this year; it happens every year in some form. Honestly, no matter who won, you would likely find someone here finding reasons to criticize her. For example, during Stephanie’s year, many of us remember she was openly rude to contestants during the first two days of competition week, yet when she won, there wasn’t a rush to this board to tear her down. It’s important to hold everyone to a standard of kindness, but it’s also worth recognizing that negativity among contestants isn’t new, and maybe the focus should be on creating a more supportive environment overall rather than singling out one person. I’m not condoning any actions or words said or not said but let’s not single one person out when this happens across multiple people during the week.
