Subject: I've seen Lindi compete. She's a gorgeous girl, with a good stage personality, but ASL is NOT a talent. You know why-- bc she doesn't know sign language. I do not find it entertaining whatsoever, but gimmicky in an unflattering way. It's like a girl who learns one song on the piano-- it doesn't make her a pianist, it just makes everyone uncomfortable watching her struggle bc she doesn't have the talent. Her parent is a special education teacher and she is going to college to become a speech and language pathologists. She loves and knows sign language. I’ve actually watched her and her mother have an entire conversation in sign language lol Apparently, it’s just fine since she just WON talent. Also, MO is not a talent competition. Its name is so special education students are not signaled out. Some IS have their own classroom and have a push in program; others help more like a teacher's aid by pushing into a regular teacher's classroom. ****Very basic definition.
