Subject: Read it again for comprehension- I didn't say, "keeping a title for an additional year takes emotional energy", but that waiting to compete at state takes emotional energy. And please, being Miss Ohio is not non-stop. I doubt if she has over a handful of paid appearances during her year. The last 3-4 held jobs or went to school during their year.

In reply to: 's message, "I think the ENTIRE WORLD has and is continuing to endure Covid. I sympathize with everyone affected, which absolutely includes the contestants. However, I do not agree with the words REWARDED and EMOTIONAL ENGERY? How about, BLESSED to remain a titleholder for an additional year to promote their charitable platform and make a difference in the world, which is especially needed now. If keeping a title for an additional year takes emotional energy, how could one then handle the job of Miss Ohio? It is non-stop for an entire year. The word “newbies” is very offensive in particular when paired with the word fresh. Just because you tend to see many of the same girls year after year, doesn’t mean you need to deter new contestants who are interested, but have yet to compete. Lift them up and encourage them to try something new. Isn’t the whole point of the system for females to support and empower other females?" on 16:56:37 06/22/20 Mon

Waiting is disappointing and tiring. Girls who won this season mentally expected to be done with and moved on from MO by now. Trying to keep the excitement of competing at state going for another year is a challenge. It's unfair to them to allow girls who didn't have to go through this mental gauntlet, i.e. fresh, to enter the class next March.
