Subject: And let's be clear, I'm not deterring new girls who are interested in the program and haven't yet competed. They will get their chance to be 'lifted up' and 'empowered' in the 2022 season. They are going to have to wait to compete, just like this year's contestants have to wait to compete at state.

If keeping a title for an additional year takes emotional energy, how could one then handle the job of Miss Ohio? It is non-stop for an entire year. The word “newbies” is very offensive in particular when paired with the word fresh. Just because you tend to see many of the same girls year after year, doesn’t mean you need to deter new contestants who are interested, but have yet to compete.
