Growing up in Kentucky in the sixties and seventies, corporal punishment was quite common in school. It was often administered by the teachers and sometimes, they might send you to the office. Mostly I got spanked by hand. But there were a few times I felt the paddle on my butt. Twice in first grade, my teacher put me over her knee in front of the class, pulled my pants down and spanked me across the seat of my underwear. The paddle was one of the "Fly-Back" paddles with the string and staple removed and it was painted red. The only other time I got paddled was in the fourth grade. The teacher grabbed my arm and gave me four swats across the seat of my pants in front of the class. I got two from the principal by hand in the boy's room for horseplay and one in the hall, also by hand in the seventh grade for cussing. That was from a teacher that I didn't even have.

The most memorable spanking I got in school was from substitute teacher I had at the time. I originally had her in second grade and she stopped teaching full time because she had gotten pregnant. She was also friends with my mom and had actually seen me get a spanking at home once when she and her husband were at our house for a cookout. I got into trouble and class and she gave me the choice of a spanking from her or going to the office to be paddled. I chose to be spanked by her. She had me bend over and place my hands on a piano bench that was in the room. Then to my surprise, she pulled down my pants in back and gave me twelve hard smacks on my bare bottom.

After each spanking I got at school, except the one I got in seventh grade, I got a spanking on the bare butt from mom for getting in trouble at school. The only reason I didn't get one in seventh grade was because, it was never reported and I sure wasn't going to tell. Not only would mom have blistered my butt, she probably would have also washed my mouth out with soap.
