Mostly got smacked in our home, times in public weren't often but the embarrasment factor was very much real.

Times i remember.
1. Couple of times smacked on the side of a road for mis-behaviour on car trips. Fighting brothers in the back seat got us both hit.

2. Dad handing me a huge spanking in a swimming pool changeroom for refusing to come when called to go home and cursing off in public. Cried hard after that one, and just wanted to dig a hole when eyes fixed on me as i emerged crying from the punishment.
