Lets look at this from another standpoint . Yes we would all love to see better opponents week in and week out, However If Fordham scheduled A I-A school and 3 A-10's and ends up the season 3-8 we will be calling for coach Foleys head. The #1 Goal is to win the Patriot League and go to the playoffs. The only way to go to the playoffs is to either win the League Or Have 9 wins and finish second . Dave Clawsons philosophy was to schedule 1 A-10 as a Reach and than schedule 3 Lower level games because at the end of the year the only # that matters is How many wins you have , Not they had 8 losses but 4 of them were to A-10's or I-A's. Look at Lehigh 2 years ago the go 8-3 but 1 of those Losses was to UCONN and 1 to PENN. Lehigh Did not make the playoffs. If lehigh had scheduled Marist instead of UCONN they would be in the Playoffs. Look at Lehighs schedule this year Open with Monmouth and VMI ( They are not making the same mistake again. I know we would like to see good games , but at what point do we sacrafice winning seasons to play attractive games for the alums, because as far as Fordham has come we are not at the level of the A-10's or The academys they are almost certain Losses with the exception of an upset every so often. Look around at all the schedules and you will see the trend . Play 1 Stretch game , play 3 down and than the conference

Thanks for the info, JG. The only thing that's tough is that alot of what's listed falls into the category of good intentions v. something already in the works. I hope your Army comment is one thing that is actually in the works, though. What about Navy? Someone said we screwed them over 10 years ago (see thread below). Anyone here know any details behind that? Thanks again, JG (NT)PA Ram20:49:21 03/02/05 Wed
