I'd be interested in speaking to any recent graduate interested in purusing a career in patent law and who plans to return, or who already is, within a 30-mile radius of Lunenburg, Massachusetts. I have been reading this message board for quite some time and, while I have never posted before, I have learned much and enjoyed the discourse. I am a big fan of the football team and usually attend the Holy Cross and Brown games. In any event, here is what I'm looking for:

1. A candidate interested in exposure to the patent law field over the summer, and perhaps beyond, for a wage to be negotiated;

2. Someone who learns and masters new skills fairly rapidly; an attribute I'd expect almost by defintiion from a Fordham grad;

3. Someone with a techincal background, which is a pre-requisite to the practice of patent law. Would accept any of the following majors: physics, chemistry, computer science, biology, pre-med, or last and least, biology. I do not designate biology as such to disparage the major in any way; the practice just does not handle inventions in this technical field. I'd listen to any grad who majored in another field but who can otherwise state a case for acceptance.

4. I will weight a Fordham grad more heavily than a grad from any other university to fill my current needs.

Job would start off on an as-needed basis and be in the nature of an independent contractor relationship as opposed to an employer/employee relationship.

Thank you for posting the call to which this post is responsive, I think what you have done is a good service to our young Fordham brethren.

Best regards,

Lou Franco, Patent Lawyer
Fordham College 1990, B.S. Physics

Lou, thank you. The Fordham alumni are many, successful and Ignatian. We want to help others and thereby pass on to another generation what we were given. You gained from it and so did I and many others too. Money gifts to the Program are great and encouraged but helping a fellow Fordham person learn of life outside the Campus is Godly. (NT)R.
