Subject: Re: This is as bad for the young man as it is for the school. AFCA and AP are the oldest and most prestigious All-America teams predating The Sports Network by quite a few years.

In reply to: Drag-less 's message, "The press release story gets worse. Read both the Dec. 13th and 16th press releases. Note that the release on the 16th only changes a few words from the Dec. 13th release. It makes no comment on the significance of being selected to the AP and the coaches' teams. My understanding is that the latter two selections are of much greater significance than those reported on in the Dec. 13th release. My guess is that the posters here are dead right. Someone woke up in the SID office and rushed out a virtual repeat of the Dec. 13th press release. This is extremely bad journalism." on 15:43:43 12/16/04 Thu

I couldn't agree more. If you go to the FU homepage, you'll see there's a story there about a student getting a Marshall--a very prestigious fellowship. The press release is very well done and includes comment on the student by the NY Marshall spokesman. That's what should have been done for Kornegay. And they should have Kornegay's press release on the homepage along with the other big news. Talk about missing a chance. Wow! (NT)Drag-less20:54:31 12/16/04 Thu
