Bottom Line is Fordham should move to scholarship football.. FU spends similar to A-10 schools (when you apply fin. aid)... so why not field a better team , receive better exposure and get a chance to play a 1A each year... Fin. Aid packages makes it more diff. to recruit than straight scholly's.. FU can keep good company by playing some good academic schools OCC and play a 1A each year.. Lets get this done.. A-10 now.. I'd like us to move to true scholarship football too--but, if we did, wouldn't our expenses go way up? Wouldn't Title IX require us to then spend an equal amount on scholarships for women's sports? (NT) -- JP, 09:39:19 12/08/04 Wed

If we are adding two women's teams it is for one of three reasons in my opinion. One, we are not currently in compliance with Title IX and need to add them in order to be. Two, we plan on adding a men's sport or two. Three, we plan to upgrade football. I suspect it is the first reason I gave.
