I did have a really well thought out response to this when I saw it but I don't have time to retell it all now. It hurt my brain to do it in the first place. I think the disc at the end was the real disc with the info on it. I think CSM used Scully to get his hands on the disc just so he could destroy it. I think that a future happening with Scully has something to do with why he destroyed it and kind of sacrificed himself. He had no intention of letting scully or anyone else have the info so he swapped the disc that Scully had for a blank one.
It wasn't like scully to go off on this wild goose chase and yet it was. She is a wierd girl at times. I really think she needs Mulder to keep her on the straight path just as he needs her to keep him honest. He was really ropable with her and disappointed in her when they were at his apartment. She was trying so hard to make eye contact with him with that pleading expression of hers and he just wouldn't look at her. I liked that bit. In the end he did believe her but had a kind of I told you so attitude. I don't think he understood how she could have trusted the most untrustable person they know. She let him down.
I think CSM is a creep and I don't think Scully was rattled enough when she woke up and found herself undressed and in jarmies. I can only think that she was so tired that she doesn't remember putting her self in the jarmies. To even entertain the fact that CSM might have done it is just too gross to imagine. Blughk!
