I mean, I love looking for hidden meaning behind every look and gesture but the last wish thing is a given. Mulder did exactly what he was suppose to do with his last wish...He freed the genie. This is what happens in every genie story ever written. And it happened here, too. As a matter of fact I knew from the beginning that it would end the way it did and was somewhat disappointed that the X-Files didn't reach for a higher level of storytelling. Just for a second, when Mulder looks at Scully I thought they were going to do something different. However, sad as it is to say they didn't! Genie freed, just as she foreshadowed in Mulder's apartment and just as it was pre-ordained by every good Jinn story since 1001 Arabian Nights first laid it out 500 years ago.

who loved "I Wish" but mostly because of the tenderness and humor...like the gentle way Mulder speaks to Scully...Scully's giddiness...and the way M&S play with their respective roles...I felt it moved along the character change for Scully nicely.
