For the record, you DO need to take lessons in singing "correctly", though some people seem to have a gift for doing it right without formal instruction.

Most rocks singers have zero voice training. And you can usually tell the ones who do (Freddie Mercury, for instance) pretty quickly. I think Mick's had some singing lessons later on but he hadn't at the time of this interview. He also learned to play the guitar at some point, but that also came later.

In my opinion Brian had a knack for playing a lot of instruments without formal instruction as well. That's a more unusual talent.

Agreed on both counts. And of course, many Stones fans nowadays don't give him any credit for that. I think a book should be written about what happened to Brian after his death!

As far as being bad influences, it's amazing how our cultural standards change over the generations. I agree that they look like a bunch of little cutie two-shoes!! LOL!!

That has probably always been the case about cultural standards. The difference today is that we have visual records like films and photos to prove it. And yes, they were a bunch of cutie two-shoes. They all look so young and fresh in that video! They were little more than children.
