Hi Linda & Delilah:

One thing I will add regarding this subject is that Brian and Keith did not mind switching from lead to rhythm guitars. Sometimes (in the early years) it's difficult to tell who is playing which guitar part (hence guitar weaving)!! Fact is that it was Brian who mentored Keith on how to play many different guitar parts (different tuning aspects of the guitar etc...). In many different interviews from people who knew the Stones before they became famous is they all say the same thing... that it was Brian who was far more talented and it was Keith "looking up" to Brian while learning guitar parts for the group. Keith seems to have forgotten this part along with Mick (forgotten who taught him how to play the harp) and Charlie (notice I did not mention Bill). Who was it that decided which songs they would play live? Brian of course!! Very important fact to remember... who promoted the band and R&B at the same time? Brian!! Not Keith or Mick... can you say WHITEWASH???

Again it was ALO (with Mick & Keith's blessings) who decided that Brian should be pushed into the background. Why? Simply because ALO did not get along with Brian... actually hated the guy despite his talent and good looks etc... so let me repeat this because this is the beginning of the long downhill slide that led to Brian's demise within the band. If I started a band and hand picked the members to join MY BAND then I would have every right to decide where I stand playing live since it's MY BAND. Sounds selfish but is it really? I started the project and I was the only one who signed the record contract, after all the hard work in finding gigs, making connections to get discovered and be allowed to play gigs anywhere etc... should I NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO SAY WHERE I STAND during a live gig or on TV? That includes having a Mic in front of me as well. That does not sound like too much to ask for right? Well apparently to ALO and Mick and Keith it was... yet all you hear is what and A..hole Brian was and how despicable he was blah, blah, blah. All lies... the same things are said over and over again by all of the living band members today. It's like a broken record... yet the bottom line is without Brian teaching Keith how to play Guitar and teaching Mick how to play Harmonica then where would they be today? Probably somewhere in England with a pocket full of memories thinking of how the band Little Boy Blue never made it!! NO ALO talking trash (still) and no Rolling Stones as we know it.

George
