My sentiments exactly! Ronnie and Mick T. are both about 62 today, which is pretty equal, if you ask me, but maybe the Stones are fooling themselves?? I'm pretty sure Keith is fooling himself, since he has mush for brains these days, and probably more than a few of the newer fans. I was wondering if that gem of "he's too young" wisdom came from the Great Sage himself. :)

I've always been of the opinion (and that's JUST an opinion) that the major reason for the downfall of Brian Jones can be laid at the feet of Mr. ALO and his obsession with having The Beatles. I think the Fab Four had an option to have Andrew for a manager but decided on Brian Epstein. Hugely correct choice! I read somewhere that the success of that quartet drove Andrew to have something just like it.

Brian Jones may have been the unfortunate victim of that ambition, and just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Andrew was quoted in Wikipedia as saying Brian favored "that ugly black man's music", but he (Andrew) wanted "pretty pop" for "his" band. That certainly sounds like an opportunist who grabbed the first really good band he saw and forcefully molded it to his own ends. Do you have any ideas on that, or am I out of whack again?
