What was fabulous about Brian was that he played any instrument he wanted to. Period! It didn't matter if he'd never seen it played by anyone else, or had never picked it up before. It never took him long to "figure it all out".

I just have the memory of that first concert in San Bernardino where he stood on his pedistal and stunned the audience with his guitar work on that unruly Teardrop Vox. I watched him do all those licks that were already being attributed to Keith Richards, even that early in the Stone's history. Brian was already reduced to "rhythm guitarist" in his own band before he ever reached U.S. shores. Very sad.
