I know he was guilty the first time, because he plead guilty to the charge! It was the SECOND time he was arresred that they put him on trial for. Since his conviction was overturned a few years after he died, because the cops who arrested him were found to be crooked (they eventually went to jail themselves...I think), Brian was really "not guitly" of the charge he was being "tried" for...just being set up as an "example".
