I don't think it's a matter of Stones readiness so much as it is one of Keith readiness. Reports are that he was never the same live after falling out of that coconut tree. And he's got arthritis in his hands, not good for a guitarist. His playing, or rather his lack thereof, at the gig with Eric Clapton (I think that was last December), was telling.
