Oh! I think I updated somewhere else! Yes, I've completed my move and this is coming from my own computer on my new DSL connection. The previous tenant finally moved out, but left me with a broken pipe to fix after he removed his refrigerator. I had to call a plumber to fix that pipe when I got to the house when the movers arrived and found a puddle of water on the kitchen floor.

I also found the powder room faucet is severely leaking and the "hot and cold" water sellector on the shower is broken off...another expensive fix. I had to get a new garbage disposal, since the old one is broken, and get covers for several naked light bulbs and face plates for electrical sockets.

I also had to fix and rehang a closet door that had been taken down by the previous tenant. He'd lost the hardware for it after he'd painted it, and rather than go buy new stuff, he just left the door sitting there. He'd also removed the hardware for a curtain rod...and lost it, I guess...because I had to go buy new stuff and hang my curtains up. It's been a test to see just what else he'd half-way done that needs completion and what's been broken or disfunctional for years.

There's a tree in the back yard that's dead and needs to be cut down, since it's bare branches are overhanging some serious electrical wires to the house, and it should have been done years ago. The shed out back looks like a tornado hit it and it was left to rot, rather than be fixed or torn down. I'm looking at having to do that too.

My sister want's me to get ground cover for beneath the trees in the front yard because she thinks it all looks ugly with just bare ground. It's hard to get something that will grow in the shade. I'm not through with the indoors yet, so the outside's going to have to stay the way it is until it cools off a little (it's been well over 100 degrees here every day since I arrived) and I can stand to be outside more than 10 minutes at a time.

My new neigbors are very nice, and the family on one side of me brought me some home baked cake. The fellow on the other side is nice too, and says he's taking care of his mom, who's 83 and can't talk anymore. She has some form of Altzheimers (or however you spell that).

I have to get my car re-registered here and get a new driver's license too. I've got that scheduled for this coming week...and I hope I get it done! There are still a lot of things I haven't taken care of yet, but I'm getting there.
