Linda, Ive been a mess since I relapsed on Drugs and alcohol in 1999.Ive had a stroke, been on the wrong Medications, hallucinated like hell, 9/11 happened, I survived a serious suicide attempt and was in hospitals from December of 2001 till November of 2007..I still see a shrink and a therapist there every week..Just this Thursday my therapist gave me a suicide risk assessment. She didnt have to ask me a single question, I had all the right answers immediately..The medicines are finally working right as I cant make a mistake because of the way they are packaged,dose by dose,and the hallucinations stopped..I suffered from Schizophrenia since 1973, both because of drugs and alcohol and my parents mistreatment of me growing up. I have been In recovery since 1993 When I first joined AA and gave up all the drugs and alcohol, However I had relapses because of bad company and my Parents alcoholism. Theyre deceased now, and I no longer see the same addicted friends. I also have a wonderful sister who is now my legal guardian and has been since I was in the hospital,all the changes have been positive. And I no longer allow myself to be affected by anyones hedonistic behavior. I am Truly happy for the first time in my life,and am even trying to give up cigarettes. So thank you so much for pointing this out. And Yes, I still look like Italian Brian Jones as that singer said to his girlfriend, just a bit older.LOL! Love,b
