WJ, I've been through a hysterectomy and I'd like to point out a few things before you decide to get one.

The first question to ask is if you really need it for your physical and mental well being or can you undergo a less radical medical program to get you through the "change of life".

It is major surgery and done in a hospital. Hospitals now are filled with a variety of dangerous infections that are either difficult to treat or cannot be treated at all.

The danger of getting an infection after surgery is very good and can cause all sorts of other health issues that you can avoid by not having surgery unless it is necessary.

The pain from that surgery takes a while to get over; a month or more, although I know someone else who took four months to just start to get back to normal.

If you don't need it, my suggestion is don't get it. Try doctor supervised natural based or hormone therapies instead.

Good luck which ever way you choose.
