In reply to: George 's message, "Re: Wonder what the Jones's knew?" on 08:53:14 07/30/11 Sat

I can answer a lot of those questions George, but of course some are as much conjecture on my part as yours. I wasnt there. I was supposed to be. Not for a party, just a get together. I could tell you names of a couple others who were meant to be there, but probably shouldnt. If they havent put it out, I better not. But no, no party, not in the sense of a "party." Brian often had friends over, and often it was just hangers on that mooched. Sometimes it got loud, but usually when that happened and I was there, we would go out into his fields for a quick joint. He was getting over the whole "scene" thing. After Anna came things did quiet down, but she was only there about three weeks.
Cant explain the bonfire, other than I heard that the Stones management and Brians Dad felt fans would try to come for souvenirs. Makes some sense in a way. I know not all his things were burned though. Where the stuff went, I cant say, and by that I mean I dont know.
The contradicting statements were hysteria. Think about it. You discover the owner of the house who also happens to be world famous, dead in a pool and of course theres going to be panic. And these people had no chance to talk about getting their stories together. They were supposed to be taking care of him and failed miserably. Figure it out.
As far as not securing the scene? Big mistake. But the same thing happened in the JonBenet Ramsey case. It can happen with a small police force not used to big city protocol. And bear in mind, they had no reason to suspect foul play. Nor do I, come to that.
Brians name is NOT taboo in Stones circles. I know that for a fact. Keith has said some unfortunate things, but hes also carrying a lot of guilt and had no closure with someone who had been one of his closest friends. Ive seen that happen myself in some other cases. The Stones had no choice but to move on, and they have not wiped Brian off the map. They have put out Joujouka, dedicated an album to him, and made space on their site. What would you have them do? Sacrifice their entire career due to the death of a member? Not practical, and Mick is nothing if not practical. He sees the Stones as the business machine it is. The world has changed since Brian left.
And I dont know what you mean about a lot of strange things happening since Brians death. Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me, when most of those incidents can be put down to pure coincidence. I, myself, have had odd Brian related things happen to me in the intervening years, but I dont see them as some mad plot to silence me or anything peculiar. Stuff happens, and when you read too much into coincidences, you go mad. Same thing reading too much into random comments like Keith saying getting to the bottom of Brians death is like trying to figure out who killed Kennedy. None of us know what was going on in Keiths mind when he said that. He could have just been venting. Y'all read too much into this. The simplest explanation is usually closest to the truth. And factor in all the authors who have made a bundle off selling books about "the murder of Brian Jones." At the time, it was just a tragic accident, and as one who was an insider so to speak, thats how I see it. Brian isnt appearing to me rattling chains and wailing about justice. He appears to me smiling and calmly sitting on chairs. And if thats enough to make you want to haul me to the rubber room, so be it. I do feel that I would know if he needed justice.
