There is what ALO is saying now, and there is what he did back then. ALO did not like Brian. He did everything he could to bolster Keith at Brian's expense. That is why Keith started singing backup vocals when he didn't want to, and why Brian stopped even though he enjoyed singing. Bill talks about this somewhere in his Stone Alone (sorry, can't find the quote right now and the book is over 600 pages long...)

Problem is, Keith was rather shy in the 60s. He was a distant 3rd in popularity to Brian and Mick. He only came to prominence in the early 70s, after Brian's death and long after ALO was no longer in the picture.

Ian's Stewart's unholy trio???? I think I'm missing something here...
