Subject: Dead Flowers
In reply to: WJO 's message, "Re: The Tribute Flowers" on 16:15:26 07/12/11 Tue

I strewn the petals from the dead flowers that Brian's fans left but couldn't be bothered to put into water. Their flowers I guess, but what a waste of the joyous delight of colourful blooms. I watered the vases and gave the flowers half an hour to have a nice drink and get a bit of colour into their petals, while I arranged them into a guard of honour. Then I took the piccies. The things I do for you Brian Jones followers - I don't think y'all will ever be able to repay me!!!!

I think the amount of flowers is much the same level each year I've visited. Lots of times the blooms not only don't get water, but often they don't even get a vase! So perhaps vase-less, the tributes look less plentiful. I didn't take close up shots of messages. They are only from fans, no family - well perhaps one - and no Rolling Stones, or in fact any of Brian's musical peers. Names that crop up year in year out are, Christine, Debby and Nina. Though of course there are many nameless floral dedications.

I think 'people' are probably referring to the two miniature trees in the foreground of the pix and not the two rose bushes by the headstone. Those rose bushes have been there for ages now, but the mini trees are quite recent, as are the small rose bushes planted close by them.

No, I wasn't lying down, but of course it is a low level shot. I was standing on the bench to take the high level pic.
