Lewis Jones was a product of his era. Very uppity and probably a little snobbish. I don't think he was any worse or any better than the gentry at that time. It's a shame that he never acknowledged Brian's children. That was very un-christian for someone who professed to be a good living, moral person. I would even call that immoral in the fullest sense of that word.
Who knows what he felt toward the end of his life? It's sad when a parent can't be even civil to their own child regardless of what he or she has done in life.
Personally, I think Brian was one of the welcoming committee when his father passed to the next life. He was a sensitive young man and could be very compassionate at times. I'd like to think that the walls that were built up in life were no longer standing!
