I doubt very much Joan was a former girlfriend of Frank's. Just as I doubt the rumours I've heard that he attacked her. Frank just didn't have the muscle, both physical and metephorically speaking, to conduct a one man reign of terror!!

And as for the Jordanian connection. 'Ziyadeh always claimed he did not carry out the attack' and 'The police case against him concluded:' “The motive for this is a mystery.” Laughable. Guilty plea/denial of attack/motive mystery. From where I'm sitting there might just be a couple of missing links to convicting this guy of a 'vicious assault'.
