This is not directed towards anybody in particular regarding Brian & Anita's relationship. I agree that Brian had a lot of problems with or without Anita... but one cannot minimize her relationship with Brian and how this pissed off/made Mick and Keith even more jealous of Brian. It's mentioned in every single book I have ever read on the Stones. How Mick and Keith wished it was them not Brian that Anita went after. It's an important part of their story. Brian was never the same after Anita left him for Keith... and I believe I have read this in just about every book on the Stones as well including Bill's. It was NOT just a coincidence that Brian really went down hill after Keith took her away. Then add on the drug bust & everything else within the Stones and you have Brian being totally out of the Stones circle. No friends within the band and even his other friends like Michael Cooper, Robert Fraser and others were suddenly all gone (they were hanging with Keith and Anita).

It's difficult to comprehend losing everything all at once. But that episode (Anita /Keith) was in my opinion the clincher for Brian. It didn't have to be but everything that happens after that is pretty much a sad story. Until he finally left the Stones. Then he gets taken away from us when he could have regrouped and gotten his life together...start a new faze of his career.

All too much.

George
