Bernie:

I agree with Lazlo and Pam on this. I haven't been posting here lately, though I monitor this board every day, because I really haven't had anything to add. Essentially, there's just no news I've come across that I could add to any discussions. Trynka's book seems to be an approach to Brian that's a lot less bias than older volumes, but from the reviews I've read and heard from those who've read it, he just doesn't hit on anything I don't already know about. Perhaps had he written the book ten years ago, I might have bought it, but not based on any of the reviews on the thing. Most Brian fans were disappointed, and even the ones that liked it weren't convincing enough for me to fork over $30 for it...unless I collected Brian books, which I don't, though I have a lot of them. You can't blame this book on what's happened to all the discussions on the board. It's been losing posters for a long time.

I think Pam's right that people just have lives to get on with, and some have passed on from their lives altogether. Even the Basic BJFC members have dealt with death and illness in recent years that emphasizes the mortality of us all.
