I am putting this season's success entirely down to my inspired retirement.

I appreciate that it must have been a devastating blow to lose a player of my calibre, and it is heartening to see how you have all raised your games since. Its a bit like when Cantona left United. A couple of years later they won the treble. Lets hope something similar happens.

I mentioned this theory to Ditch on Sunday but he muttered something about having a decent centre back now. Think that's what he said - his accent is still quite strong. His English is coming along well though.

Have a great Christmas and New Year. Will try and drag my arse out of bed next year and stand on the touchline and watch. A bit like I used to do when I was playing...

Anyone up for Cheltenham in the cup?
