Hot take: having a parent who is a certified judge or adjudicator isn’t unique to any one family or school -- No name, 10:09:36 02/04/26 Wed (ip-131-241-69-150.dynamic.fuse.net/131.241.69.150)
Hot take: having a parent who is a certified judge or adjudicator isn’t unique to any one family or school—it’s pretty common across competitive dance.
If we’re suddenly clutching pearls over one dancer’s mom being a judge, then we should probably keep that same energy for the many schools where parents teach, adjudicate, run feiseanna, or judge at events too. Consistency matters.
Let’s celebrate kids for their work instead of turning adult credentials into something controversial.

Hot take #2: why point it out if you aren't trying to take advantage and exploit the system? -- No shame in their cheating game, 11:53:06 02/04/26 Wed (NoHost/159.26.99.228)

How about you look at the straight feet and repetitive steps and then say they deserve to win?

I don't think its a big deal honestly. They post a lot of their dancers and I don't mind a dance school promoting their dancers. You think Olympic coaches/trainers aren't talking up their athletes??? -- No name, 10:16:56 02/04/26 Wed (ip-131-241-51-8.dynamic.fuse.net/131.241.51.8)

Nobody is jealous of the Academy. Nobody even respects them. They’re trashy, tacky and anyone who willingly goes there is morally bankrupt. -- Post is nbd but the “jealous” thing is ridiculous, 12:36:11 02/08/26 Sun (157-66-128-38.clients.gthost.com/38.128.66.157)

Promoting dancers -- No name, 10:31:14 02/04/26 Wed (mobile-166-198-251-084.mycingular.net/166.198.251.84)
I think that promoting your dancers shows a level of respect, confidence, and trust in your dancers. Dancers who are lifted up, talked about, and encouraged tend to thrive. They want to be the best versions of themselves. Teachers who do not advocate for their dancers tend to have more narcissistic qualities.

Good point! And hard working, talented dancers don't need their teachers promoting them in costume on social media. -- If they are sooooo good let their dancing speak for them, 11:47:12 02/04/26 Wed (NoHost/159.26.99.228)

It speaks volumes that a TC/AD would choose Academy for their kids over the school expected of them by marriage. And their results don’t lie.Just saying. -- No name, 10:52:32 02/04/26 Wed (NoHost/212.15.83.120)

If the product is better and your kid is treated better, it would be insanity to stay in a mediocre, abusive system. Go ahead and try to pretend that the crappy school is “virtuous” though. You’re funny. -- No name, 12:06:18 02/04/26 Wed (NoHost/217.216.121.10)

is the school you are referring to the one w/the family shirts? -- when you're here you're family, 11:45:47 02/05/26 Thu (d-23-244-51-237.oh.cpe.breezeline.net/23.244.51.237)
Yikes, I think I read about this awhile back elsewhere. Wasn't one of the schools in that region making a big deal about being a family and making shirts that looked like the Olive Garden logo?
I may be 100% wrong, I am not from the area where the Academy is.

TY for the clarification, I'm sure holidays are a bit awkward lol...:p
The woman who left--she probably won't get Xmas cards from the family members at the original school.

What are you referring to re: the marriage? I think the Academy promoting their dancers is fine. Lots to question on them but this isn't an issue IMO...

It's really not uncommon for children of teachers and ADs to dance. Everyone knows everyone, ID is a small group. This looks like trying to stir up drama. -- No name, 10:55:14 02/04/26 Wed (d-23-245-192-45.oh.cpe.breezeline.net/23.245.192.45)

No, it's not uncommon. But no need to make social media posts advertising that your parent is a TC or ADCRG. -- Especially when your parent is off judging a major. Looks and smells like opportunity for favors, 12:03:03 02/04/26 Wed (NoHost/159.26.99.228)
