Welcome back home BZC, I will post again tomorrow as I am too tired tonight to get my mind in focus but I agree that it's not proven that animals are not conscious, in fact I think there's a book out by a scientist who gives many examples of all sorts of animals shown thinking and planning and doing somethink and of animals doing altruistic things even for animals of other species.
