Welcome to my fantasy football forum. Feel free to leave messages, give your input or just read the posts. The goal is to make everyone a better fantasy football owner and help with those difficult decisions.

Instructions

To make the board easier to use, if you have an exceptionally long message, please create a post and then place the bulk of the question in a reply. This will make the board load quicker.
When asking for advice on starters, please list the player and who they are playing if possible (i.e. Couch @ CIN, Dillon - CLE).
It is also helpful to include your scoring system (Performance or TD only is often enough, but if you have anything funky, it helps to know it).
Above all, we are all here to learn so don't take anything the wrong way or get upset. Just have a good time and enjoy.

I need to start 3 RB's this week. I am going with L. Tomlinson and C.Garner. My third RB is either D. Staley or E. James. Who's the better play this week?

Also, should I go with A. Toomer or R. Gardner as my 2nd receiver?

Question of the week--do you start Ahman Green against a tough TB Defense? He has done fairly well against them before but this defense could be tougher than last year. I need to start two. Here are my options:

Green vs. TB
Portis vs. Indy
Lamar Gordon vs. Washington
Curtis Martin vs. Buffalo

Starting Portis is probably a no-brainer but who would you start opposite him.

Also, in this all-important week, I need to start 3 WRs from the following roster:

Rod Smith vs. Indy
Troy Brown vs. Minn.
Travis Taylor vs. Tenn.
Chad Johnson vs. Pitt
Tim Brown vs. Arizona
Jerry Porter vs. Arizona

I started Porter last week which was a mistake. And while Oakland plays Arizona, who knows what you'll end up from Porter or Tim Brown. Gannon might go to Garner and Rice all day again.

I was leaning toward the top three but still not completely set. What do you think Chad Johnson will do against Pitt?

In a Performance/TD league, who should I start at WR this week (pick 2):

Toomer, Driver, or Coles

Driver has the toughest matchup (@TB) but is still Favre's favorite and will most likely get a decent amount of yards and maybe a TD. Toomer is playing the Texans and Coles is at the Bills.

I picked up Lamar Gordon last week off of waivers. If he starts this week, should I sit one of my regular starting RBs? I start 3. Ricky Williams is at home against San Diego. Fred Taylor is on the road against Dallas. Shaun Alexander is at home against Kansas City. Gordon is on the road against Washington.

Well it seems to be official Curtis Martin is a between the 20s runningback. I think this past Sundays game was obvious proof that Jordan is the redzone runningback for the Jets. I'm not sure if its because of C-Mart's ankle or age or whatever. But gone are the days of double TDs, etc. Martin goes from being a top 10 runningback to a 2nd tier starter in a deep league. What amazes me is the fact that Martin had been an excellent goal line RB. The problem with Martin is that he's not going to rip out a 40 yard run so if Edwards is going to take away his redzone carries then all Martin owners can kiss the TDs goodbye.

Incredibly disappointed.

Any news on Todd Heap. Is he injured? Need to know soon because if he is I will have to pick up a TE. Apparently Heap left the game a few times against Miami. It would be nice if Blake would spread the ball around a little instead of throwing only to Taylor.

Hey guys, I just found this site a few weeks ago and it is great! Props to Dave. Since I just found it, I have not offered much advice yet, but hope that you guys will help me on this. I have a few hours to decide on this trade:

F. Taylor for S. Alexander.

I have taylor, but im out of the playoff race and dont have great freezes for next year (my best are warner and a-train). fred's been healthy so far, and alexander is low value now, so I'm up in the air as to which guy may make better freeze for next year.

Should I do it?? Thank you guys very much for any advice, promise to offer the same soon.

Q - I'm seriously leaning towards MCNAIR over GREEN. McNair seems to always play well under adversity. I have a gut feeling Tennessee could upset or even make it a close game. It's been typical this year that a game like this end in an upset. Green is just simply too inconsistent. I'm starting to think Vermeil is losing confidence in him. Case in point look at the play calling recently. I'm not sure it matters anymore how bad the secondary is versus the Chiefs. I'm on record somewhere on the archives of this message board commenting on Vermeil not upgrading his receivers enough.

R - I'm using C-Mart then considering Lamar Gordon over Davis and Barlow. Gordon has too much upside even if he gets half the carries. There is no way Faulk does not play Monday night. Faulk like very other NFL player is a super star with super star egos. Trust me he'll be out on the field for prime time. But Davis and Barlow might get half the carries in their respected games. Stephen Davis owners should be concerned. A big power back could easily reinjure the knee getting gang tacked everytime he carries the ball. It's not like the guy is going to rip out a 40 yarder. Ifhe's going to be productive (TD/Yards) he more then likely will have to carry the ball 20/30 times.

I really wanted Gonzo and the Steelers D. They get my lowly Bengals next week and still have a game with Houston at home (my defenses have sucked this year). An added benefit is that the three guys I traded are all going to start for the other team this weekend and he plays against the team that is in second place a game behind me. I hope they all have career games!

Both Bulger and Gannon had huge games this past week. Of the two, who do you think will fare better, given the matchups? Bulger plays Monday night against a banged up Bears D, but probably without the help of Faulk. This could be his last hurrah before Warner takes over again.

Gannon, meanwhile, who seems to be his old self goes up against NE on Sunday. Thought Gannon would have a tough time against Denver this past week but that offensive line protected him very well.

Did anyone see what happened on the failed PAT after Jerry Porter's TD last night? Was it a missed XP by Janikowski? Yahoo sports indicate "PAT failed". Associated Press says "run failed" (who ran it??) and NFL.com doesn't have ANYTHING on it in the game stats (it's just blank!). The final determination affects a head-to-head outcome. Ok, I am 5-5 and I am 1 game back in the divison with 3 to go. And I have a trade offer, but first here is my lineup:

In week 9, I lost to our league commissioner by 2 points. He played Tom Brady that week who apparently threw 4 TD passes. I learned last Wednesday that the NFL ruled that one of the TD's to K. Faulk was ruled a lateral or backward pass and therefore, Brady's stats would be adjusted to 3 TD's and subtract the yardage. We use CBS Sportsline scoring which they say they won't change after Tuesday. CBS says it's up to individual leagues to do what they want. Our commissioner tells me this league rules any pass (Forward or Backward) a pass. I replied that this makes no sense because it would deviate from NFL rules. He then said that we just let CBS score for the league and that is final. I'm appealing to have a league vote on this issue. Am I being a jerk for requesting this? This could make the difference between me making or missing the playoffs. Thanks for any input.

- If you go to the Help/Contact Us from your CBS League Home Page, it explains it in FAQ #1 as to the issue and their ruling. In my opinion, it's laziness on CBS's part. It SHOULD be corrected. Watson @ JAC or Taylor vs WAS? I also have Davis, but am assuming he is out this week. Leaning towards Watson even though JAC has only given up 1 rushing TD this year because stupid Fred Taylor cost me a win last week. And don't even get me started on 'the Brady pass' :)
