| She steps in, eyes downcast and dull, but wary. She flicks her tail nervously, glancing back towards Black Death in the woods behind her. She again turns to face the TT, her eyes searching for Mercury with both anticipation and dread...but when she catches sight of her, she gasps, forgetting the awkwardness of her return, and crashes out of the forest and to her side. - *Tall mare yanks herself to her feet, her dizzy spell seeming to be over. She snorts on seeing the filly, anger mixed with happiness and confusion flash across her face. - She sighs, her eyes cast downwards, and hoarsly mumbles, "I just wanted to apologize, for I hadn't time to try to explain..." She slowly raises her eyes to fall upon the tall mare, reflecting how every part of her heart pleaded for the mare to listen, and to understand... "I hadn't meant to hurt you so...it was the last thing I wanted, believe me..." Her voice chokes out, as she continues to peer at the mare, hoping for a response, any response, so long as there wasn't the horrible silence stretched between them... - *She turns to Black Death, a flicker of memory crosses her face as she remembers what Pryo did to his father. "Leave us child, we need to sort this alone."She nods to the edge of the territory."Go, wait over there."She says softly but firmly. Turning back, she glares down at Cobweb. "Hurt? You have no understanding of how powerful that is. And you still haven't told me why. I don't think you quite understand what trouble you are in. You've run away with the King's son, his first born and his heir. You know what its like to grow up without parents. Well, think how it must feel for the parents to miss on their foal growing up. - She shivers, realizing that something in Mercury's past might have only fueled her hurt and her anger... She hesitates a moment before saying softly, "There was more to the story than me simply leaving to run off with a colt... It's not that..." She shifts her weight, taking a moment to try to collect her thoughts to know what to say next. "I... The whole argument between the two was because of me...the King had his grudges against me beforehand, but when Dusk defied him to come for me... He sees Dusk enter and his eyes widen for only a second, he watches even more closely, now his attention focused more on the edges of the territory, wary for his uncle or another angry horse to enter. - Her eyes, too, are wide with fear, especially at Dusk's enterance... She knew she had to be careful with her words, for this was sensitive ground for Mercury... Dusk had come and spoken too soon for her liking. She inhaled, holding her breath and watching for Mercury's reaction as she fidgeted in place, breaking into a bit of a sweat... - *She snorts. "Oh just go, I'm not going to change your minds. Fine Dusk, have it your way. I hope you are happy, for I have lost everyone I ever cared about." She turns and walks away to another part of the territory, her back turned on the youngsters and her long black mane flowing behind her neck. Half turning, she says quietly. "Tis near time for me to leave this place anyways, all it has brought me is grief and hurt. I must admit, Cobweb." she says, raising her voice."I never took you for a quitter. But then you are just a young one, and just remember that. I have asked you to leave, Dusk. - She pins her ears slightly, upset that both are arguing. In a low voice, biting back any anger she has, she says, "Dusk, please go. This is between Mercury and I, and I don't need your help... Please, it's my problem, not yours..." She watches him for a moment more before slowly turning towards Mercury. Her words had held so much truth- they always had... She drops her head, "Mercury, I... I just wanted to apologize to you. I realize my leaving was perhaps a bit rash, and that I might regret it, but..." She sighs softly, "I saw, and still do not see, any other choice... You heard the words the King had to say about me- how could I have stayed when our ruler hated me so?" She lets her voice trail off, glancing up with still-pleading eyes... His mighty head snaps up and he looks to Risk, and smiles. Going through so much, it is a wonder he can smile, but he does. Still, her instincts were stronger now that she was a full-fledged mare, try as she might to control them. | The black stallion stands silently, ebony tail flicking gently in the chilly fall air, the sharp wind blowing his mane and long forlock around his face. He stands stock still for a moment, then suddenly lets out a shrill whistle, rearing and pawing the air as if to bring it down, then taking off, galloping around the territory, grin cracking at the sheer joy of running. She steps out of the shadows slowly, yet elegantly as the mare she's blossomed into. The light splashes slowly across her hide as she breaks from the shadows, and her dark eyes glint wistfully. Perhaps she would try their game, would try to be one like the others. She turns slightly, nudging Black Death in return, "It is advice as such from one so noble that I might follow." She throws her head up, sending her silver mane into disarray, with head uplifted, nostrils flared in wholehearted energy. She meets him not in the eyes, but rather watches past the colt's form and into the horizon, allowing the wind to toy with her mane and tail, her thick forelock swirling over her ashened face. He snorts loudly, angry and annoyed at Dusk's haughtiness...but it didn't matter, he wouldn't come near that foul animal, nor would he near Cobweb. He was going to forget mares in general...faintly his mind drifts back to his grandmother's words to him. So someone loves me...but what do I care...I've learned well enough that love is just hurt with silver lining. He snorts softly, tossing his chiseled head. Do not even look at me, because I'm not in the mood for it, understood? And I don' care if your whining gets Uncle Fire all angry with me. It's not as though I have anything left to lose now. My mother and father are gone, dead, you've managed to make sure I can not love, I've never loved you nor Fire, only looked up to him, so you can do whatever you like."
