Subject: Those of you who recall Mona--she is in the DC area. Had email from her, she is okay, thank God. But there are many ops in the DC and NY area. Soose was in NYC--she has checked in at another board. Praying for everyone.

I was OK until just a minute ago until fighter jets started flying overhead.

Pittsburgh voluntarily evacuated. Most businesses closed and people went home. The plane crashed about 60 miles SE of the center of the city thankfully in a field. Traffic into the city is being stopped at all tunnels and bridges which covers most routes into the city. I was used to the sirens. Just not the fighters....

I think we may share the same employer, only different campuses. We're back to work here in Oakland and dealing with some distressed faculty who lost friends and students who have also been shocked.

My parents live near the crash site and it's been pretty busy on the mountain. And I often drive through your town when visiting Shirleym.
