I have a 81 FC. It has been completely restored to original condition in 2005 but has not been used and is in a warehouse (it is beautiful). Batteries are dead though - again. My question is - can i replace the 4 - 6 volt batteries with 2 - 12 volt? if so, how would i wire the 12 volts batteries? Also, if the 12 v's will work what size should i get (CCA etc...). thanks for any advice, john

I'd just stick with 6V golf cart batteries. They have a longer reserve capacity than 12V cells. I prefer the ones at Sam's Club- $72 each and they can take a beating!
