I bought a dress on line from a girl by the name of Amanda LaPere.. when i emailed her about the dress, i asked her if the dress doesn't fit when i receive it, will i be able to return it.. i was assured there would be no problem. So i sent her 650. for the dress and when it arrived it didn't fit my daughter so i emailed her that day, and told her i would be returning it the following day and it would arrive June 26th.. we'll it did ,and i couldn't reach her my email are my phone.. i left her several messages.. I was really upset we were suspose to do a pageant we had no dress and no money to purchase another one with.. we found another dress 2 days before we left to go to the pageant we had already paid for. She finally emailed me back the day before we left telling me she was out of town and when she got back on July the 10th she would pick up the dress from her post office and send me my money. we'll we got to the pageant and she was there.. so my daughter asked her about it.. after crowing.. she again assured us she would send us the money on the 10th.. we'll we got home and i was told by her post office she had not picked the dress up and they had try to deliver it three times and left three messages on her door.... so by this time i was really mad i emailed her and she emailed be back over a week later telling me her father had been sick and she would send my money!!! we'll we called her house this past tuesday and her mom had said she was at Gingerbread Nationals.. she was very rude and hung up on me.. but she didn't hang up all the way and i could her her talking to someone in there home telling them she had told a lie and Amanda hadn't left yet and how she knew i would just give up because it was to much trouble to sue them...... i couldn't believe this.. i was shocked!!!!! The dress has been at her post office since June 26 and now i was being hung up on!!! I'm really up set..I'm not quite sure the best way to handle people like this.. this is the very first time i've been burned.. i've always bought clothes over the internet!! I'd guess Amanda insisted on a money order that she cashed minutes after receiving it. The best way for this lady to get her money back is to keep this on the boards. I am applauding you for getting this out to everyone. Coaches are to be role models for our children. I would not want to send my child to anyone who commits fraud or thinks it is ok to steal. I do that ALL THE TIME - I wouldn't have it any other way. But I get bashed like hell on this board for being a child basher and a b&&ch. Go figure. Anyways, we were at HY and some of the winners were good, but for the most part, I did not agree with them. I had the little girl who won our group picked to win. She was cute, and modeling didn't count. (Not pro am but beauty walk). But a LOT of the smaller ones I did not agree with at ALL! I don't know what they were looking for. Some of them just plain looked lost on the stage. The two boys they pulled for Supreme were odd as well. The little Cover Girl who got so much was a doll. But the Grand, sorry, nope. Cellulite. And the hair was atrocious. Burned out, over bleached, short curls that literally hung in her face the whole time. You couldn't see her eyes. Some of these kids are going to be for a urprise at nationals. I would order a video of last years national if I were considering going. I really felt like MM in the 2-3 should have gotten a Supreme and MJ (2-3) should have at the very least placed higher. The queen in that group was a doll baby. Haven't seen her before, but from what I hear she just had a photo shoot, so I guess Glitz pageants need to watch for her! Cutie pie! And the 4-6 was a glitz kid. And the 10-12 was a Glitz kid (SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE **GRAND**!!! ANYONE AGREE WITH ME ON THAT ONE??? CK YOU'LL KICK BUTT AT NATIONALS!!) The littlest baby queen was a cutie, too. Lots of personality.

Hey Guys,

I just thought that I'd let you know that your conversations regarding ISP's and "how a person can trace back from these boards if you they have the right connections" are totally errorenous and seemingly unintelligent. I am not a pageant person but it would seem that you are writing all of this nonsense out of sheer anger. If not, then I'm scared!

I have worked as a computer internet engineer for 5 years now and I can tell you that tracing conversations have nothing to do with having "connections" unless you hiring hackers from the underground! If you guys knew anything about the internet and computer tracing at all, you wouldn't have to state anything. With the right tools or utilities, you can easily trace back conversations to a local ISP including the city and state in about 5 minutes at which time then you could hit the boards with some REAL INFORMATION!!!

I just had to respond to this ridiculous statement(s). Oh and one more fact.....HAVING ONLY 1 SERVER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW MANY ISP'S YOU ARE UTILIZING. You can have 20 ISP's and have only 1 business or home server. A server is nothing more than a storage unit and/or pc that you are utilizing to do the horsework for you Local Area Network or WAN. DUH??? However, not to be misquoted, your local ISP may have only 1 server. If that is the case though then you will probably never get on to even write these ridiculous unintelligent messages.

If you can't speak the computer lingo and use it intelligently then don't speak because it only makes you look as intelligent as you really are!!!!

I have a question to all the pageant "pro's" out there and I would like all of you to be honest with this post and yourselves --

Is it really worth the $$$ you spend? To put a child on stage in these beauty dresses that cost $1,000+ even used, to pay $650+ on pictures that are touched up and don't even look like the child anymore, to enter these photo contests- that pick the same winners month after month- does this really give your child encouragement and self esteem?
What will they do with all of these wins when they have finished school and are out on there own?
Will it help them to secure a better position in society? Will it help them make a better life for themselves?

I am also at fault here, just like everyone else, and have fallen pray to these people who pray on pageant moms.
I was involved in pageants for many years until- I saw something I could not believe. I saw myself becoming so involved, I forgot what was most important. My childs future. Before I had known it, I had started tapping into money that was put away for a college fund, just to keep up in the pageant world!

My daughter has won her fill of titles and prizes, but the truth of the matter is - IT WON'T HELP HER GO TO COLLEGE AND MAKE A BETTER LIFE FOR HERSELF. I don't want her to depend on her looks or her sportsmanship to get thru life!

Education is the KEY to success! As long as your child is beautiful inside and out - who are these people to judge she is less beautiful than what you or she believes.

Pageants years ago, before we had to spend thousands of dollars, were fun.
We went to make friends, cheer those friends on and spend time with each other!
Now it is no longer fun- because people are concerned with how much everything costs!

Can you really allow someone to judge your childs beauty? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

ALL CHILDREN ARE BEAUTIFUL and I don't think anymore being on that stage should be the way we judge our children.

I don't think we should be paying these bottom feeding Guru's and people that pray on our insecurities!

Please rethink who your friends are because they probably are bashing you behind your back anyway!

Don't allow these people to run and ruin your life and your childs life by bleeding you dry!

My name is Director Debbie Dumbwitt. I have to tell you that this board is not good for my business. You people might get to darn smart and not pay me my big fee. You see, you peons need to come and pay me a high high fee. I have to pay for the pageant that will showcase all the pros and make all of YOU want to be a pro. That is how pageants work. I make the peons pay for those big crowns that most likely, their child will never attain. Many will drop out because of the expense, the politics ( I LOVE to play politics with those guys).Those who can be taken in and who will spend whatever it takes may have a chance at those crowns someday are the kind of dummies I want. But right now, the big names that have already spent thousands of dollars MUST get those crowns. It is their turn because that is the way pageants work. If they fall all over the stage, I don't care, they still MUST win. Particularly if their parents are big time operators in pageants because they are the ones who help keep me in business and help me get FEES. AND I love talking to them daily and us swapping little favors and secrets. (tee hee) They know I will bring in the right judges and change things a tad if the judges fail me. Sometimes we just don't bother with judging,we just pick, but to make things look right, we have to play the part. I do hope I haven't let out too many of our secrets because we need all you new people to spend your little behinds off in order to keep ME( Miss Important) and all my buddies who make tons of money, in our big lifestyles. Pageants are a game with us and you have to play the game or WE LOSE. Now if you play the game, you newbies lose, but that is the way it has to be because that is the way pageants are meant to work. Aren't we wonderful.
