Brother Kurt,

First of all disregard Sister Sandras comment about King James messing with the Scripture. King James simply authorized the translation he did not do the translating. It was done by a team of some of the most well trained scripture and language scholars of all time. It has been specifically commended for its LACK of sectarian bias. In fact the King James Bible WAS the Bible of all major English speaking denominations prior to about 1952 when the RSV came out. Before that the binding didn't even bear the words " King James Version" it simply said HOLY BIBLE, and was used by Methodists, Baptists, Lutherans, etc.. the only church using another "bible" was the Roman Catholic Church. It has stood the test of time and the tests of critics for almost 400 years. Bottom line it has been and can be trusted. If not, our God has sure has used and is STILL using a piece of junk to save a lot of souls!!! Or maybe our all knowing God doesn't know there are mistakes?

Any scholar today who disagrees is saying in reality that they are more intelligent and knowledgable than all of the finest minds of over 300+ years of history who have studied, poured over, and validated the King James Bible. Talk about "ego" trips!!

That being said, you really need to sit down and compare scripture with scripture. The Bible is its own best commentary. When you study it find out who the author of the book was and to whom it was primarily written. For example, Matthew wrote primarily to the Jews and he shows them by examples in Jesus' life how He fulfilled the Messianic prophecies, Mark and Luke wrote primarily to Gentiles, Mark showing the servanthood of Jesus, and Luke as a physician showing the human side of Jesus. John demonstrated the DIVINE side of Jesus that is why his gospel seems different than the others. But, put them all together and you have a complete picture of the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. There are no errors, omissions, or contradictions.

Adam and Eve had sons and daughters, who married each other. For reasons known only unto God, He did not give laws prohibiting incest until much later. Same answer for Noah and his family.

How would you prove your faith to yourself unless that faith were tried? Sure, God knows the outcome...but you don't. God uses trials and temptations to prove our faith to ourselves and to purify us and make us more like Himself..pure and holy. With the power at His disposal, let me assure you that if God were on an "ego" trip this planet, universe, and everything in it would have been gone long ago!!! What have we as a race done to merit preservation? The only reason everything is still around is because God LOVES His creation so much that He sent His Son to redeem us from our own stupidity!!! And that certainly doesn't demonstrate "ego."

Now, if you want to be used of God He has called you to preach His word....not to doubt it...criticize it or correct it forget all the questions and doubts...sit down STUDY the Holy Bible. READ it in faith, believing what it says is true. Pray for the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Scriptures to you and give you understanding. If understanding doesn't come at once. Keep on reading...and re-reading..and reading again...in God's time the answers will come. If you REALLY want to get into it...UCMI Institute has some very good courses that will teach you much about the Scriptures...check into them.

Again, make up your mind that no matter what...you will trust the scriptures..." let God be true and every man a liar" even if you don't understand them right away...keep on praying for understanding. God will give it to you.
