Languages and electronics have always been my strong points Ani. I just seem to have the knack! I speak English, of course, Scottish slang, of course, French, Italian, Arabic (both Middle East and North Africa), Russian and can order a drink or two in Spanish. Electronics, because it is such a logical science, just seems like common sense to me.
I remember in Bolivia, a few years ago, the local Engineers couldn't get the flare stack to light up from the control panel. I just stood back and looked at the design drawings (they were American) and saw a couplie basic mistakes. Sorted them, one with a spark plug from the company lawnmower, pressed the button and the thing ignited first time. I was surrounded by Brazilian and Bolivian Engineers who had been trying to get it to work for two years. They were praying I would fail, but I got a round of applause, and a bonus that would put RBS bankers to shame. It paid for me and Sveta to go on a Carribean Cruise, and her and her pal to fly from Kg. to Miami, then some sweettie money.
