Too hyped-up: I will be back after the contest as I have not seen all unphotoshopped pix. As for now, 2 thumbs down to Colombia, India, China, Indonesia after seeing their new photos unphotoshopped.

Angola, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, France, India, Indonesia, Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Serbia, South Africa. Some of these guys have great sexy bodies but it's not a muscle contest but a total look or package and by their pics is why I like these guys.

Not sure why Hawaii is there as that is not a Country.

We heard from a friend that theres a lot of negative feedback regarding our representative Kipp Glass. Manhunt USA West franchise was offered to us because last years franchise owners didnt pay their franchise fee. We accepted the offer and thought of doing a local pageant. It was offered late last year. Due to lack of preparations, we just decided to do an open call and pick one to represent USA West. We got Travis Kraft who is a very hot guy from LA. His photo was already up on the manhunt website when last week of December we got an email from Alex that they're moving the pageant from January to Feabruary 5-10. The venue wasnt ready for a January pageant. Travis Kraft happened to have some prior engagement. Trust me, we did everything that we can do to send him. It's just that he got a bigger and better gig here in the US. Last minute, we emailed, faxed, and mailed offers to tons of modeling agencys. We sent emails randomly to profiles that we can find online. Unfortuantely, it's NY's Fashion Week. None of NY's guys will take the offer. Most of the LA and SF guys are flying to NY for the same gig. Agencys turned the offer down because it was last minute. Day before deadline to decide if we got USA or not(USA West became USA alone because USA East is not sending anyone), Kipp Glass responded to us and showed interest. He may not be the best looking guy in the US but the fact that he gave his trust to us matters. We are sending this guys without any sponsors at all. It's all from our pocket. We would like to apologize to those people who are not happy. We may have done a pathetic job, but hey we did our very best. One thing we can promise though is that next year will be better. And for those people can maybe help us out, then please let us know. It will be our first time so please bear with us. Again, we're SORRY. Kipp may not win the title but Im sure he'll do a great job. Thanks.

Anticipation & (s)excitement are certainly mounting in this forum as Manhunt quest gets closer & closer! Here's my evaluation of my choices: 1) Michael Verlackt is definitely one of the top contenders - in keeping with Belgium's tradition of doing well in male pageants. He's got international appeal & the youthful boy-next-door looks plus the right height,too (...not too tall!) 2) Canada's Jason Charles Milot is HOT! The best Canadian rep so far. His exotic features and attractivepackage & bulge should servr him well! 3) Oh yes, Lebanon is sending again a very strong candidate this year. Politics aside, he may win it all. Honey u dont know what ur talking about. Indeed it was months of preparation. Travis Kraft who was the original representative backed out last minute due to some schedule conflicts. US organizers searched all over the country LAST MINUTE to find a replacement. It was a big challenge because none of the hot models believed that it is a real deal. Honet trust me, they got responses from modeling agency saying " so ur sending my guy to korea and get him killed?". Admittedly, Manhunt International delegates for 2007 are smoking hot. Mr World on the other hand, does have several delegates to watch out for. Put each delegate side by side and there is no clear winner. For example, Latvia's Agris seems more polished than Armands, but Puerto Rico's Romeo pales in comparison to Justin. Of course, these are initial photos, their actual participation will prove who is better!

Anyway, hopefully, this friendly competition would make Mr World and Manhunt International work extra harder in their productions and overall pageant.

I'd like Mr World way better if they had a pageant every year like its female counterpart, but it seems like Julia and company forget about it for years at a time. Can someone tell me what the winners of Manhunt International and Mr. World get besides sash and trophy? Unlike Mister International that publishes its prize package, the first two pageants do not - which makes me wonder if Mister International is a far more prestigious pageant than anything else.

Filipino machos vain and 'sexy', says poll

IT'S BEEN long suspected but now there's proof: Filipino men are so vain.

A survey conducted in six countries in Asia and the United States showed that Filipino men were twice more likely than their Asian counterparts to value good looks and spend time and money on grooming.

While a considerable number of Asian men felt that looking good was "neither important nor unimportant," 58 percent of Filipino men thought it was "very important," according to the survey conducted by global market research company Synovate Inc.

In the survey, 48 percent of Filipino males felt they were sexually attractive, coming a close second to Americans, 53 percent of whom felt the same about themselves.

Only 25 percent of men in Singapore felt they were attractive, 17 percent in Taiwan and in China, 16 percent in South Korea, and 12 percent in Hong Kong.

Synovate interviewed 3,000 men aged 15 to 64 through the Global Omnibus telephone survey. The study was conducted among men from various socioeconomic classes in Manila, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and the United States.

The survey also looked into the motivation behind the men's pursuit of good looks, and found it was not mainly to impress or attract women.

It was learned that nine out of 10 Filipino men liked to look good for themselves, with only five out of 10 saying they liked to look good for others.

This indicated that Filipinos were more vain than American males, of whom 76 percent said they liked to look good for themselves. Koreans ranked next to Filipinos in wanting to look good for their own sake.

Although the most vain, only 22 percent of Filipino men had �kikay� [personal grooming] kits, as against 85 percent of Koreans who had such kits.

The most popular grooming item for Filipino men was cologne or perfume. Seventy-four percent favored this; 67 percent preferred deodorant; 40 percent, mouthwash; 34 percent, conditioner; 30 percent, gel or mousse; and 21 percent, shaving cream or lotion.

"The findings have a wide-ranging implication for the marketers of ... personal grooming products," Sarthou said. �Traditionally, marketers have addressed this market by selling to wives, mothers, sisters, girlfriends. Now, they can go directly to the newly minted beautiful male.�

Among our 27 finalists, 13 are from the Philippines, 5 are from Korea, 2 are from Taiwan, 2 are from Thailand, 2 are from Malaysia, 1 from Indonesia, 1 from China and 1 from Pakistan. No candidate from India, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, UAE, Japan, and Lebanon made it to the final round.

Our poll will be open until December 30, 2006 when we will choose our Magic 10. For 24 hours, the magic 10 will continue and on December 31, 2006 we shall announce the winner and runners-up for the title ASIAN HEARTTHROB 2006.

A Filipino-produced event will be held on November 25 to celebrate the Filipino masculinity and essence. Ginoong Filipinas USA 2007, now on its 4th year, will continue to find the best representative of our heritage to various events and to compete internationally to Manhunt International.
