Subject: got me thinking

Am I alone in noticing that the media was not really so loving towards Jag especially when it comes to the reviews and critics but I notice the love affair of the press towards Army Wives. Dont get me wrong there are a handful of lukewarm reviews on Army Wives but overall the feedback and reviews for the show have been warm and outstanding.
I would 9% not so good reviews vs 85% great reviews for Army Wives.

[> I think because Jag can be cheesy at times and in your face preachy. Army Wives is really good with the emotional chords...its fun good military soap with a message. Dont you love when the show gives something back to our troops? I enjoy that because our soldiers deseve all the treats, gifts, dignity and gratitude shown to them. They deserve more publicity than many horrible people and crazy Hollyweirds do. -- Paris, 12:29:43 06/22/09 Mon

[> I think the marketing of AW was a big key. Posters, promos, flyers plus CB and KD doing many interviews. The online streaming of the show and webpage etc. helped IMO. I think the title JAG meant little to people. On the otherhand ET plugged JAG to the hilt and AW is virtually ignored but still does well! So agree with your sentiments Paris about giving back to the troops instead of all the freebies to spoiled ungrateful Iam a star don't talk to me types. JAG is holding up to the test of time however as the younger generations are discovering the show. So hope that all the JAG movie speculation becomes a reality. -- Jubellant, 09:41:58 07/02/09 Thu

[> [> One must also realize that Army wives deals with issues that relate to the people who have been left behind. They face many hardships that some people don't realize, but that many can relate to. Fewer people can relate to serving in the military and what's involve. AW also deals with the entire spectrum of the pay grades from the the E-3 (private) to O-6 (general) -- p, 13:14:41 08/28/09 Fri
