Your kid can learn about winning and losing without being publicly humiliated.

We need to examine the positives versus the negatives when making decisions like this. I don't think they planned to shame people, but that's what ends up happening in these situations.

I do think the kid could have learned without the public acknowledgement. Likely your daughter would have learned regardless. The kids need to be taught to Dance to win, not to dance to not lose ---- which is the mindset they have if they dread the idea of having their name announced last.
