What has Saddam done to us that is so evil? And let us not forget that any answer you give is based upon information you have received from agencies that tell you what they want you to hear. You seem to parrot a lot of media opinions and babble, but I still have not heard one good reason to invade Iraq. People break deals all the time. The United States is notorious for it. So who is evil? Who is good? Why cling to such notions? Saddam's only problem is that he breaks treaties without the power to defend his position. Had he the power, he would be much like the United States in its treatment of the Indian. Break a deal, then kill whoever speaks out about it.

Let us not justify our actions as though we are "good" and they are "evil". This does not help to generate meaningful discussion, but is just the sort of rhetoric one might expect to hear from any war-mongering State.

You say that oil is not an issue, but it most certainly is. You are closing your eyes if you believe it to be otherwise. Colin Powell has said as much. The secondary initiative is to assure oil production is safe in those areas. Is this wrong? Who cares? I just don't want anyone to think that we are doing this for some "higher morality". We are motivated purely by selfishness and self interest, just as most people are.

I am not interested in saying this is right and this is wrong. I am only interested in what is best for this country. I do not believe--- at this time--- that war is the answer.
