I just read that some ultra-marathoner completed the Appalachian Trail in 46 days, 8 hours. It beat the old record by 3 hours. Amazing.

The trail is 2189 miles long. If you divide the length by the time, you get 2189 miles ÷ 46.33 days = 47.248 miles per day or 2189 miles ÷ 1112 hours = 1.968 miles per hour. The runner's name is Scott Jurek of Colorado.
