Ditto for me. I had to read it two or three times and each time there were tears in my eyes, as there was just now when I read the final chapter.
I always thought that "Growing together" and "Picking up the pieces" were my two favourite Wes books but now I'm not sure. I think this one is right up there (along with Winchester Harbor, by the way).
The other thing I've really enjoyed is, from the other side of the planet, looking up Google Earth to see where the characters are or are heading. Not real easy with Blanche Tickle (!) itself but the rest, well, they add real meaning.
Thank you, Wes - I always look forward to lunchtime Monday, Wednesday and Friday 'cos that's when the latest chapters appear here in Sydney Australia (as distinct from Sydney, Nova Scotia!).

A kindred spirit in my home town! Wow. Ross it was like you were describing me complete to favorite stories, Google maps and the Monday, Wednesday & Friday vigils!
When looking at the maps of Newfoundland's South Shore did you notice the ferry routes and follow them on the Newfoundland Labrador Provincial Ferries site? That will bring home to you just how isolated, remote & uninhabited the South Shore is, even by Aussie standards.

Gday mate!

I should also have included Rocinante - one of the first I read and I've read it again twice since!
Yeah, did follow the ferry routes etc etc and also looked at the isolation of airports - particulary Gander - never realised how way out in the sticks that was to become an international stopover.
PS - where are you - I'm on the northern beaches.

Yes Gander is out in the sticks, but have a look at Goose Bay!!! It was also a major trans Atlantic airport back in the day.

I'm live right at Spit Junction, the cheap end of Mosman!
