It's not just the houses where we once lived but also the schools.
The school for my first 5 years was torn down when the whole block was cleared to build parking and a recreational center for the largest Baptist church in town.
The school where I went for 6th and 7th grade on the far west side of the county was abandoned after I got out of college and still sits today all boarded up.
The school where I went 8th through 11th grade is now just the gym left as a local meeting hall and the rest of it is a combo convenience mart and Godfather's Pizza.
The new consolidated central high school for my senior year doubled in size two years later and then 2 more years later became a central middle school when they built a new bigger high school beside it and a new community college center for the University of KY.
At least Austin Peay where I went the first 2 years and UK where I finished are still standing but both have expanded so much that I no longer still recognize them.

Greetings

Seeing the comments, I took a look at Google maps for my old homes and schools. I have only lived in four houses during my life and they all are still lived in. Some changes externally at previous homes. Where I now live was a farm during my school years and beyond!

Of the schools, first school greatly modernised, second was replaced, third is now a museum. Senior school, from age 12, was new and has been extended. Can still find a few old school friends.

Brian
