That's one of the colossal pains in the hindquarters about living in the, um, more outlying rural areas. We do have decent DSL where I'm at; I do admit to missing the FIOS we had when we lived outside DC.

Hughes? Try to make sure there aren't any trees or shrubs in the immediate area. Also a good idea to try to put the dish where the house acts as a windbreak from whatever the prevailing wind direction is. Good luck!

Ironically, I had a minor issue with my phone and DSL this am. No dial tone and lack of signal respectively. I called my home number from my cell phone and both issues were fixed.

Anyone know enough about phone systems to be able to make an educated guess what might have happened?
