Salam

I made a promise to my friend but can not fullfill my promise because of the illegal thing she was going to do. She want to help a friend come into the country we live illegaly with my help.

Though that i promised her i regret now because that it could make me in trouble and that i do not want to lie and find excuse. She is waiting for my help and have hope but since i am fasting and fearing Allah, how can I explain to her that i can not do it and that she should find someone else even if it cost our friendship. Pls help

Lying, cheating and deception are all attributes of the Shaytaan and we are instructed to stay away from these characteristics if we have any hope of being believer.

Simply tell this person that lying and deceiveing are against the principles of Islam and therefore you can not have a part in anything which involves such acts...
