Angelina was beyond grateful when Craig didn’t turn and leave, not that she’d expected him to but because of her wobbly state and the uncertain outcome of this meeting Angelina was greatly relying on his presence to calm her when normally it was the other way around. She stood there half expecting the handsome man to flee, to vanish into thin air like he’d done all those years ago. She’d finally come to the conclusion he was dead, told Desiree this even. It’d been the only way she could force herself to move on. Hazels were wide with emotion, complete windows to her soul as a shaky breath was taken. His words twisting the imaginary knife in her gut even further, a pained sound escaping despite her best efforts to keep it at bay.

”Why?” Why what? Why did he leave? Why did he come back? Why didn’t he call? Why did he love her? Why – Why – Why? There were too many questions and her mind was racing too fast to ask them all at once, but surely he could see from her expression the pain he’d caused, the love she’d felt, and the onslaught of emotion she was feeling now. Oh how she wished to rush into his arms and have him hold her, like she’d dreamed for years now, but to do that would be foolish…something she’d never been despite what others may think.

Realizing their whole soap opera was unfolding in front of Craig, attention was painfully torn from the blond to the dark haired bouncer beside her. Voice cleared, forcing throat to loosen around the tears threatening to form, as she explained…the best she could. ”Craig, meet Stan…Stan Uris, my husband.” As if to accent this dramatic wording thunder crashed overhead and for a second the lights went out and the music died, leaving only the pounding rain overhead. When the lights came back on Angelina was looking in the direction of Stan again, because it was true…he was her husband, she’d never gotten a divorce, and she’d thought herself widowed. How interesting things would have been had Rob stuck around. “Is….are…the others?” Unable to ask by name the faces she’d called family and friend for so long. Sphinx, Tumbler, Freb, Memphis, and Amir, just a few of the men she’d waited on, feed, and cleaned up after for so long. Then there was her best friend Sasha, along with Pergatori, Sway, Shania, and Laurie Ann. She’d kept in touch with Sasha and Laurie, but Shania and the others had vanished just like the men. Her family had left her, leaving only Desiree and a few post cards and phone calls to keep her going.

Hurting inside, hands were clenched again and a hiss formed as she looked down at her hand, puffing ever so slightly from the growing bruises, she needed to get some ice on that or she’d be useless for the next couple days work wise. ”Craig…I need some ice.” Inward wince as she felt like she was dismissing him, but praying he understood she wasn’t…she just needed the illusion of being alone with Stan to talk, she knew he’d hear, but Stan wouldn’t know this…and she doubted her wayward husband would speak with the other looming so close to them.

Waiting on an angel.

One to carry me home.

Hope you come to see me soon,

cause I don't want to go alone,

I don't want to go alone.
