Jarek NOTHING HURTS LIKE YOUR MOUTHThank god for these senses, the sight, scent, hearing...All of it... Imagine having to find someone like Verda without them? Well, why would he be stupid enough to be looking if he didn't have them? Jarek shrugged into his jacket, blue eyes flashing in the fading light. She was nearby, he'd been following months old trails to find her but at long last he was certain she Verda was hear. He'd crossed the country over to make certain he could not be followed when he finally did zone in and find her...Though there had been many roadblocks along the way.
Turning his head down the street towards the throbbing music of the club the light caught on a silver scar tracing from his jaw down his neck... It would be gone soon but was still the smallest evidence of what he'd been through to keep them away from her and a prophecy of what was still to come as he strove to protect the dominant female. He narrowed his gaze, and instinctively prowled towards the building. Jaw clenched, Jarek slid through the door, the vile smell of cigarette smoke and human weakness filling his nostrils. He snorted irritably. It was slow work looking over the club, measuring the bodies despite the fact that he would recognize Verda immediately. He would choose to linger on the edge of the crown and so it was toward the back of the club he headed, ignoring the stares of other occupants of this hole. And then, just as fluidly as his movement had started it stopped. His cool gaze settled on a group of men who simultaneously stopped their exuberant chatter to stare at him. The closest one turned to sneer at him but stopped as the fierce eyes bored into him. Jarek seemed to notice something about this man, and a wry smile rolled over his lips...He memorized the face. "I'll be seeing you." He purred, leaving the dumbfounded man baffled and unnerved.
It was from there that he made his way toward her booth, suddenly knowing the way and where she was, his proud stance relaxing in full measure to a move submissive carriage. Only another werewolf would have noticed it. He lowered his gaze and stood against the wall beside her. "I haven't found any of them for several weeks." It was all he said, soft and low, without introduction. Inside, he was squirming, her scent filling him with elation he hadn't felt in what, a year? More than that? |
