Subject: season 1 on DVD

Tower had a sale & I got S1 for $50. Other seasons are going for $100! No way.

I got up to Fallen Angel so far. I realized that I had never seen Jersey Devil or Fire before. The set includes the 2 scenes cut from the pilot that included Scully's boyfriend who was a TV news producer (that might have lead to interesting developments!). I see Scully gives up on a personal life in Jersey Devil. Mulder goes to a church to look at a picture of his sister & cry in Conduit (so much for him being Jewish!). Mulder & Scully not trusting each other in Ice seemed weird, they haven't been that antagonistic since except when one is under someone else's control.

The show still looks good, a bit dated. Scully's clothes dated for sure. The stories are more subtle than other fantasy shows, now we've got way more fanciful stuff on the air. S1 has a few clunkers, Space & Ghost in the Machine for example. Ghost uses that old cliche of the air duct that someone can crawl thru, no one builds air ducts that huge!
